Our heart breaks for the passing of our boy; Pino. You were taken much too soon, and oh so sudden. If only we had time to help. I just hope you didn’t suffer too much. We love you and will always miss your presence. Soon enough you will be back home, where your spirit will live on. ❤️

In memory of our SCOOTIE, our beloved Russian Blue kitty boy…the “love of our life” – and a true …one of a kind, SPECIAL & most precious boy! Scootie was one of 3 litter-mates born on Dec. 3, 2003 (his brother Milo & his sister Mango) that we brought home to live with us & at the time, along with our very old Blue Point Siamese (Tosco) who was then 19 years old. From the get go…it was obvious this boy was (unique) & one who later bonded with me the most of his siblings & stole my heart & soul.

Scootie’s personality was one of “total & unconditional love, gentleness, joy, sweetness, intuitiveness & curiosity”… a playful boy & one who LOVED to cuddle. I always told my husband he truly “understood English” & what I was saying to him at all times. He had the unique ability to befriend anyone who came to visit…and especially our old boy that was not too fond of “kittens” & the rascally behavior at that age. Tosco was always batting at the little ones to get away, but Scootie (ever so patient) was persistent. One of my fondest memories that pretty much “says it all” about this boy’s (true soul & nature) is this one:

I always had my camera in hand when Scootie & his siblings were kittens; after all … we hadn’t had little ones in our household for almost 18 years & I was having a ball with 3 of them romping around each day…tossing their toy mice, balls & so on. One sunny, summer afternoon our Tosco boy was sitting on his little pillow bed by our bay window in our bedroom smelling the flowering Jasmine plant with its scent permeating the room. Scootie jumped up & sat on the very edge of Tosco’s pillow & put his paw on Tosco’s hind leg; didn’t jump all over him, didn’t agitate Tosco…just sat at the edge of the pillow near his hind leg & waited patiently for Tosco to take notice. Tosco turned & looked at him, but this time…didn’t try & bat him away; instead, Tosco seemed to finally “say with his body language” …okay, I’ll let you sit there next to me just this one time. So there they sat, the two of them in silence while I watched. Next thing I saw…was Scootie edging in a bit more & then Tosco allowed Scootie to climb over him closer to the window & that’s when I got the most adorable photo of these two together sharing the pillow.

Our Scootie boy lost his battle with liver Lymphoma on January 7, 2018… after 2 brave months of rallying through his chemo treatments. He was such a little trooper & fighter up to the end when his body could no longer hold on. We MISS YOU SO MUCH our adorable boy… your button nose; your beautiful gray, thick coat with silver shimmering highlights; your big paws & that adorable “curled tail”… and most precious is when you’d forget to pull your cute, pink tongue back in after your “lick baths”… my heart, our hearts …will NEVER be the same! RIP Scootie, till we meet again …over the Rainbow Bridge & can once again feel your LOVE & JOY romping forever …all of us, together again!
